Meet Our Management Team

Carol Hardison - Executive Director

Carol Hardison is the second executive director of Crisis Assistance Ministry. Her job is to ensure the mission of the agency is carried out through work with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers and donors. She came to Crisis Assistance Ministry in 2000 after 18 years at Duke Energy Corporation as a manager and consultant in the Information Technology Department. Her lifelong passion for helping those in poverty is being fulfilled through her work at Crisis Assistance Ministry.

Laurie Guy - Chief Financial Officer

Laurie Guy is responsible for all financial transactions and reporting thereof for approximately $10 million in transactions yearly. She joined Crisis Assistance Ministry in September 2008 after retiring from Queens University, where she spent 32 years in finance, business operations and human resources. She also holds an MBA from Queens University.

 Michelle Hamilton

Michelle Hamilton, CFRE- Development Officer

Michelle Hamilton is responsible for the agency's fund development and volunteer programs, and manages communications and branding efforts for the agency.  Michelle has been a professional fundraiser for more than 18 years with organizations including the Arts Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, Dayton Philharmonic and the Houston Symphony.  Michelle’s development experience includes annual fund, endowment campaigns, special events, direct mail, volunteer management and communications.  She is a Certified Fundraising Executive and holds a BA in Communications from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette.

 

Pete Heuberger- Program and Operations Manager

Pete Heuberger is responsible for directing the Free Store and Furniture and Appliance Programs, and for managing building operations at the agency’s main campus. Pete formerly managed the marketing dept. for the Kaiser Permanente Health Care Program in Charlotte, which is the nation’s largest not-for-profit health maintenance organization. He has 19 years of management experience in customer service, sales and public service. Pete has an MBA degree from Wake Forest University. He has been at Crisis Assistance Ministry for five years.

Men Tchaas Ari - Director of Emergency Financial Assistance

Men Tchaas Ari is responsible for managing the Emergency Financial Assistance Program staff, maintaining relationships with partners, ensuring compliance with contracts, and making certain the people we serve are treated with dignity and respect. He comes to Crisis Assistance Ministry from Mecklenburg County DSS, where he held various positions over eight years. During his tenure there, he developed Computer Based training modules and instituted numerous technology enhancements that won him several awards. He is a 2002 graduate of Mecklenburg County's Leadership Training Program, a founding member of the New Generation of African American Philanthropists of Charlotte, a board member of the Assistance League of Charlotte, and a graduate of Morehouse College with a B.A. in Spanish. 

Raquel Lynch - Director of Information Technology, Project Management & Advocacy

Raquel Lynch is responsible for directing the agency's Information Technology, Project Management and Advocacy Programs. She joined Crisis Assistance Ministry in October 2007. A native of Venezuela, she was previously Director of Operations and Programs at the Latin American Coalition in Charlotte. Her background includes a mix of media and nonprofit positions. She holds a BA in Communications Arts from Hofstra University.
