Free Store

The Free Store offers donated clothing, shoes, books and household items at no charge to individuals and families in need.  The Free Store is located in our main office at 500A Spratt Street.

How the process works

When you arrive at our office, we will first verify that you have all of the required information (What to Bring) and ask you to complete a registration slip.

If you arrive before 10 a.m., you will be called into the store in random order once the store opens to shoppers. If you arrive after 10 a.m., you will be called into the store in the order you arrived.

If you arrive at a busy time, you may have to wait for other customers to finish shopping before we invite you into the Free Store. This is due to fire code regulations and our efforts to avoid over-crowding.

Once you are invited into the Free Store you will be given a shopping guide indicating the number of items you can shop for.

What to bring

• Picture ID for the head of household
• Social Security documentation for all household members: social security card, documentation from the Social Security Administration verifying social security number, W2 form from an employer or paystub indicating the nine digit social security number, or W7s if applicable.  IF you are not registered with Social Security, you are required to provide some form of identification.
• You must also be able to provide your address as well as basic information about each member of your household: age, gender, race, etc.
