Mecklenburg County residents may seek assistance with rent or utilities in person or by completing this online request  This application is not a guarantee of assistance, but it is the first step in the process that may include pre-screening, screening, document verification, confirmation of emergency, and a phone assessment by a caseworker. For a successful online process, applicants should have reliable access to email, be familiar with uploading documents, and be able to receive and complete electronic documents using DocuSign technology.  Applicants without those capabilities are encouraged to gather necessary documents and apply in person during business hours.

Due to high volume, it may take several days to move through the process to a phone assessment to determine if you are eligible for assistance at this time.

Our service area is restricted to Mecklenburg County residents.  To find assistance in your area please call 2-1-1 or visit https://nc211.org/

To apply online, access to email is critical. However, assistance is still available through curbside assistance during business hours. Please review the list of documents you will need to bring with you and visit Crisis Assistance Ministry in person Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excepting holidays.
