Donor-Advised Funds

What is a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)?

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a philanthropic giving vehicle that provides an immediate tax benefit to you and allows you to grant funds to charities of your choice.

How do I give through a DAF?

  • Recommend a gift to Crisis Assistance Ministry by contacting your financial institution, foundation, or fund manager or by granting via their online portal.
  • The grant will arrive at Crisis Assistance Ministry from your fund. The grant may only include the fund’s name and address unless you request otherwise.
  • We recommend you contact us at [email protected] or (704) 371-3001, Option 4, to inform us of your gift, so we can thank you for your generosity and ensure you are properly credited for your gift.

Why support Crisis Assistance Ministry through your donor-advised fund?

Crisis Assistance Ministry provides assistance and advocacy for people in financial crisis, helping them move toward self-sufficiency.  Your gift makes a difference every day in preventing homelessness and preserving dignity for struggling families in Mecklenburg County.
